Search the National Register List
Thanks to the good folks at the State Preservation office, the National Register List is now online and searchable for RI only. The National Register of Historic Places is the official list maintained by the federal government of properties that are worth being preserved for their architectural, historical, cultural and/or archaeological significance.

Providence Preservation Society’s Ten Most Endangered Lists
Every year, PPS compiles the Most Endangered Properties List with the help of concerned Providence residents who submit their nominations. Most resources on the list represent an important aspect of local community life and character. The sites, all of which are listed on, or are eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places, reflect threats such as deterioration, neglect, insufficient funds, insensitive public policy and inappropriate development – problems that frequently threaten properties throughout Providence.
