Administrative Triangle

Enlisted Barracks in Davisville's Administrative Triangle.

The Administrative Triangle's buildings and campus-like grounds offer Davisville's strongest evidence of the former military city's human dimension. The site's success in this respect is due in part to the fact that these buildings are immediately legible as types that we have all spent time in: dormitories, cafeterias, classrooms, workshops, etc. Scale also comes forward as a significant factor in how this site is experienced. The Administrative Triangle's smaller buildings, in partnership with its paved walkways and landscaped areas, feel familiar and even "friendly" amid the surrounding acres of warehouses, pavement and inscrutable industrial structures. These less monumental buildings present us with people-ready spaces that we can populate with our own imagined human scenarios. Perhaps it is for this reason that the Administrative Triangle is among the eeriest places to be found on the Quonset/Davisville site.
